Betting picks and parlay – midweek European football

European club football returns this week with the first leg of Quarter Finals in all three UEFA club competitions. Here is a look at the fixtures through a betting spectrum to find the valuable betting picks.

Firstly, betting advice 101: avoiding bad picks is as important as picking the good ones.

Champions League betting picks

Tuesday’s fixtures provided nothing of real value – Man City vs Atletico Madrid ; Benfica vs Liverpool, saw both English teams as strong favourites heading into their ties. Both teams came away with a victory.

Chelsea vs Real Madrid betting pick

Chelsea to win and under 3.5 goals, odds – 2.70

The Blues will be coming off a big upset loss against Brentford (4-1) but it would be naive to think that it was anything more than a blip. Tuchel and his men have not let the off field matters affect their results for the most part as their only other loss of the calendar year came away to Man City on Jan 15th.

On the other hand, Real Madrid will make the trip to Stamford Bridge after a controversial win at the weekend. However, looking back at the last year’s semi final between the two teams, Real Madrid were physically dominated and couldn’t match Chelsea’s intensity. If Real Madrid are to win the tie, the big moments will come at the Santiago Bernabéu. Ancelotti is very likely to go with a conservative system and will be happy if the tie is still alive after the first 90 minutes. So, we are backing Chelsea to get a narrow win.

Villareal vs Bayern Munich

Bayern to win and both teams to score, odds – 3.00

Goals don’t come hard for Bayern Munich but Nagelsmann takes plenty of risk at the back to produce scintillating football up front. Villarreal are heading into this game after two dreadful losses against two sides in the bottom end on either side of the international break.

We are backing Bayern for a relatively comfortable win and Villarreal to score at least one at home against a Bayern side that is often too tilted to attack.

Europa League betting picks

RB Leipzig vs Atalanta

Leipzig to win and both teams to score, odds- 3.50

Domenico Tedesco’s team is flying and are one of the most in-form teams in Europe at the moment. Their confidence will be high heading into the quarter final after a remarkable 4-1 win away at Dortmund. Tedesco has really built an animal of a team who can dominate opponents by playing possession or counter-attacking football, whatever the situation requires.

Atalanta did knock out a German side (Bayer Leverkusen) in the last round but outscoring Leipzig would be too much for them especially away. However, we are expecting plenty of goals in this encounter between two attacking teams and back Atalanta to at least score once during the first leg.

Conference League betting picks

Leicester City vs PSV Eindhoven

Leicester to win, odds- 2.05

Brendan Rodgers would be planning to go all the way in the Conference League amid a disappointing league campaign which has been riddled by injuries. Leicester got a big boost in defence over the weekend with the return of their first choice centre back pairing- Evans and Fofana. This is a must win for Leicester.

PSV do have quality in their side and can prove to be tricky tie for the English side. The Dutch side had a dramatic comeback in the weekend against Twente as they came back from a three goal deficit to tie it up in injury time. We don’t think that PSV will be able to stop Leicester at the King Power but will have a chance in the reverse fixture.

The Ultimate Parlay

Chelsea to win and under 3.5 goals + Bayern to win and both teams to score + Leipzig to win and both teams to score + Leicester to win. Total odds – 56.45
