What Are the Chances of the Cleveland Browns Making the Super Bowl?

This season’s Super Bowl will be played on February 12, 2023 and the setting will be the State Farm Stadium in Glendale, Arizona.

So, what every football fan wants to know is whether their favorite team will be there. If you are from Cleveland, you can check how to bet on the Super Bowl in Ohio here: https://www.pickboss.com/how-to-bet-super-bowl-ohio

A lot of people have their eyes on the Cleveland Browns, so what can we expect from them?

Their Season So Far

Quarterback Baker Mayfield left the Browns before this season began, joining the Carolina Panthers. His replacement was Deshaun Watson from the Houston Texans, who joined on a massive 5-year deal worth $230 million.

But Watson got off to the worst possible start with his new team when he missed the first 11 games of the season due to legal problems, as Cleveland stumbled to a 4–7 record in his absence.

This record improved slightly to 5-8 once Watson could finally join the team, as they tried to beat last season’s 8-9 record. But at the time of writing, there’s a good chance that they finish this season with a worse record than last time. Overall, it’s been a hugely disappointing season for a team that had high hopes of performing better than last season thanks to their strong offense and Watson’s ability at QB.

They’re currently tied with the Jacksonville Jaguars and Las Vegas Raiders on 5-8. This is a couple of wins behind other challengers like the Los Angeles Chargers, the New York Jets, and the New England Patriots. The best possible scenario is for those teams to all have a disastrous end to the season, combined with the Browns finishing strongly.

Can They Still Make the Playoffs?

The key question for fans of the Browns right now is whether they can still make the playoffs. The chances of this dropped when they fell to defeat against the Cincinnati Bengals in the 13th game on December 11. A 23-10 loss virtually ended their hopes of reaching the Super Bowl, with the odds of them getting to the playoffs now dropping to under 1%.

This is reflected in the latest odds, with the Browns generally sitting at around +20000 or higher. This puts them far behind favorites such as the Buffalo Bills and the Philadelphia Eagles.

Is There Anything Left to Play for This Season?

While their chances of reaching the playoffs are almost gone, what is there realistically still to play for this season? Perhaps the most sensible approach would be to use the remaining games to try and build up some confidence for next season.

Naturally, their fans will be hoping to see four wins in the games that are left, and that would put a dent in the hopes of the likes of the Baltimore Ravens and the Pittsburgh Steelers, who are still hoping to reach the playoffs. In fact, some of the comments coming from Cleveland players suggest that they know all that’s left is the chance to spoil other teams’ hopes.

Even a four-game winning streak to end this season probably wouldn’t put the Browns into the playoffs, as there are still several teams ahead of them. So fans won’t want to get their hopes up but can hopefully enjoy a strong finish that gives them renewed hope for a better season next time around.

Fans will be looking for signs of improvement given that Cleveland doesn’t have a first-round pick in the draft for either 2023 or 2024. Four wins to finish a disappointing season might not be enough for a trip to the Super Bowl, but it would help Cleveland look forward to next season with some sort of renewed confidence.
