Cristiano Ronaldo Returns to Manchester United
Cristiano Ronaldo Returns to Manchester United
Manchester United have reached an agreement with Juventus and Ronaldo to re-sign after leaving for Real Madrid 12 years ago.
Now 36, Ronaldo was understood to be unhappy at Juve and didn’t make the starting 11 in their opening Serie A game.
Ronaldo scored 86 times and assisted his team-mates 34 times during his last stint in the Premier League.
Regarded as one of the greatest players of all time, Ronaldo signed for Real Madrid in 2009 for then a world record fee of £80 million. His spell there was full of silverware, including four Champions League titles. Ronaldo then joined Juventus in 2018 for £100 million. The move shocked the world. But after the Turin team lost out considerably to Inter last season to the title, eventually only scraping a Champions League place, he grew unhappy.

Out of contract next summer, Juventus were keen to offload him. With Manchester city looking to be in the lead for his signature, they then pulled out and on the same day the Red Devils came calling, with the Portuguese star completing his medical in Portugal. The move follows his rival Lionel Messi’s move to PSG.
Despite being arguably the best of all time, the deal is understood to be less than £30 million. His wages, however, could possibly be in the region of £400 thousand-per-week.
Ronaldo was top scorer at EURO 2020, with 5 goals within the group of death. He has scored 109 goals for Portugal, the highest international goalscorer of all time.
Ronaldo has smashed many records, both with his teammates, and individually for club and country. It is highly likely he will be doing that again at Old Trafford.
With 86 goals in the Premier League, Cristiano will be hoping to reach 100 goals and help Manchester United steal the trophy off their city rivals, Man City.
So, the world reels the second massive summer move. First Messi, now CR7. This transfer window has been full of high profile moves. Could we see any more before the deadline? Who knows! But for the neutral, the Premier League title race, and the golden boot, just got a lot more interesting.
