CL Final: Kingsley Coman Makes Munich Kings
Bayern Munich got the better of PSG to life the UEFA Champions League for the sixth time in their history, the only goal of the night coming from Paris born winger Kingsley Coman.
The 65th final of the grand old competition took place in an empty Estadio da Luz, many expected goals and a plethora of chances before the match, however, both sides were uncharacteristically cagey at times as the occasion perhaps got the better of their natural instincts.
The first big chance of the night came after 17 minutes when Neymar got inside the left-hand side of the penalty area. For a moment the flamboyant Brazilian might’ve thought he had opened the scoring as his low shot went through the legs of Manuel Neuer, only for a strong arm to beat the ball away from behind him.
Moments later it what Bayern’s turn to go close as Europe’s top goalscorer Robert Lewandoski controlled brilliantly in the area, allowing himself to turn and volley but the Polish striker could only find the outside of the post.
The match opened up slightly as it approached half-time, both German managers, Thomas Tuchel of PSG and Hansi Flick of Bayern, watched on nervously from the touchline as their sides squandered what few chances they created.

Eventually, Kingsley Coman broke the deadlock, following the best Bayern move of the match, started by a sublime pass from the outgoing Thiago Alcantara. Coman waited for his moment to arrive has he timed his approach to the back post to perfection, heading home into the far right post to give Keylor Navas no chance in the PSG goal.
Now Tuchel’s side stepped up through the gears in desperate search of an equaliser. The Parisians created half chances throughout, the best of which came in the dying moments as Neymar got in behind the Munich defence, his shot on the turn went agonisingly through the six-yard box where nobody of a dark blue persuasion could get the telling touch.
The final whistle brought jubilant scenes as the Bavarian club completed for the 2019/20 treble, adding European success to their Bundesliga and DFB Pokal successes.
? INVINCIBLES ?
? Bayern = 1st side in history to lift the trophy having won every game in a UCL season (11 games, 11 wins) ?#UCLfinal pic.twitter.com/HvuRNSmEIQ

Captain and potentially man of the match on the night Manuel Neuer lifted the prestigious trophy into the Lisbon air as his teammates and manager celebrated around him. This squad will have their sights set on similar success next term, they have been truly dominant in 2020 and have already added former Man City winger Leroy Sane to their ranks.
Despite the somewhat unconvincing manner of the final success nobody could argue Munich have been the best team in Europe throughout the campaign, winning every match in the competition, the first team to achieve this feat.
