2023 Super Bowl Odds: Who Has the Best Chance to Win?
The Super Bowl is the culmination of the NFL season, which means all eyes are on the league in the weeks leading up to it. Even casual fans are more interested in seeing if their favorite team can make it to this final game and win it all.
If you’re also a big football fan, you might be wondering about your team’s chances of winning next year’s cup. Your interest will also be on a high if you happen to partake in Super Bowl betting. After all, with odds so long for some teams and so short for others this past season, we know which teams have the best shot at coming out on top at the end of it all.
Here’s a look at every team’s Super Bowl odds heading into next season as well as what they need to do over these next few months to increase them or decrease them.
To start, let’s explain how Super Bowl odds work. Oddsmakers put out these numbers before the season starts to give an idea of how likely each team is to win it all at the end of the year. Odds are based on a number of factors, including previous team records, coaching staff, and depth charts at each position.
The numbers are adjusted throughout the season depending on how each team performs. The team with the best odds of winning the Super Bowl at the start of the season is the Buffalo Bills. We know they lost in the playoffs this year, but they also won it last year, so it makes sense that they’re the top pick at the beginning of the season.
The team with the worst odds at the beginning of the year is usually the last-place team that season because there’s no way they can win it all.
If we look back at this season’s Super Bowl teams, Cincinnati and Los Angeles, we can probably assume that these teams will be contenders again next year. Both have strong quarterbacks and great coaching staff, with the talent to get back to the big game.
Given that, we can probably assume that Los Angeles has the best odds to win next year’s Super Bowl. They have the talent, thanks to several great trades and draft picks, and they also have the experience.
Cincinnati is probably the next team with the best odds to win it all next year. They’re an amazing team with an even better coaching staff, and they’re led by the best QB in the league. After that, we’ll have to wait and see how each team performs this season before we can make any more accurate predictions.
Based on this past season’s team records, we can assume last-place Bears have the worst odds to win next year’s Super Bowl. They’ve always been a bottom-tier team, so it makes sense that they’d have the worst chances at winning it all next year. They have a new coaching staff, though, so there’s a chance that could change.
After Chicago, we have Jacksonville. They’re definitely in on of the worst positions to win the Super Bowl next year and will have to really improve their game to have a shot. After that, we have Detroit that is likely to be the worst team in the league next year. They have a new head coach who’s got a lot of work to do to get this team on their feet, though.
After 12 teams have played a full season and we’ve got the stats and numbers to compare, we can start predicting who will make it to next year’s Super Bowl. To start, we can probably assume this year’s 2022 Super Bowl finals teams Los Angeles Rams and Cincinnati Bengals, and last year’s teams, Tampa Bay and Kansas City, will make it to next year’s Super Bowl again.
Next on the list, we have last year’s runner-up teams, the Buffalo Bills and the Green Bay Packers. They’ve both made big moves in the offseason to get better, so it makes sense that they’d be contenders again this next season. Following them on the list, we have last year’s NFC West teams, the San Francisco 49ers and the Seattle Seahawks.
Both teams have strong coaching staffs, great QBs, and amazing talent all around. So, it’s likely that at least one of them will make it to the Super Bowl next year.
Now that we’ve looked at who has the best and worst odds of winning the Super Bowl next year, there are a few NFL teams that could dramatically improve their chances by doing a few things.
- Get a decent head coach – If they have an amazing roster, they’re going to need someone who can get the most out of them.
- Get a good quarterback – If they don’t have a strong starting QB, it’s going to be really difficult for them to win the Super Bowl.
- Build the roster – If the team has a few holes in their lineup, getting a few key players who fit the team will help them win a lot more games and give them a better shot at the Super Bowl.
After we’ve looked at the teams with the best and worst odds of winning next year’s Super Bowl, we can start making predictions on who will win. All we can do now is wait and see how each team performs this season and make changes where we need to. It’s always a fun time to be a football fan and see which teams will rise to the top next year.
After all, the only way to truly win the Super Bowl is to get there and win it all.
