Tommy Fury withdraws from fight with Jake Paul due to injury

Jake Paul said Tommy Fury “cracked and tried to find a way out,” withdrawing from their scheduled fight on 18th December due to an injury. Fury stated that he was heartbroken and hoped to fight Paul in 2022.

The British boxer was forced to withdraw from the bout due to a severe chest infection and broken rib. Former MMA star Tyron Woodley has stepped in on late notice, to force a rematch with Paul.

YouTuber-turned-undefeated-boxer Paul lashed out following on from the news of Fury’s withdrawal: “For the Furys, it’s an embarrassment.

“They said: ‘We’d fight Jake having a broken rib and our arms tied behind the backs.

“When it came down to fighting they pulled out.

“He has never accomplished anything himself. The only reason he is anything is because of his brother.”

Paul has won every one of his boxing matches since he switched YouTube for the ring. Whilst Tommy Fury, younger brother to Tyson Fury, is undefeated in seven. When asked if Fury’s withdrawal had made Paul hesitate about rearranging their fight next year, Fury replied: “It does. He didn’t appear at a press conference, and now he has pulled out of the fight. He has done a horrible job of promoting this fight. He isn’t as hyped as people thought.

“I don’t like them. I don’t like having to do anything with the family. They are not trustworthy.

“I don’t see any reason for him to come back next year and pay him a salary. It would be more fun to leave him in the dust.”
