3 Horses Who Have a Great Chance of Grand National Glory

One of the highlights of the international calendar in horse racing is the Grand National. It is a National Hunt contest that is run over the marathon distance of 4m2½f, and it is a race that everyone involved in jumps racing wants to win.

Here is a look at three horses who have an excellent chance of success this year in the feature race of the Grand National Meeting.

Corach Rambler

Recent Cheltenham Festival winner Corach Rambler is one of the popular Grand National festival tips 2023 for the feature race at Aintree this year. He tops the betting at 6/1 to give his trainer Lucinda Russell her second win in the 4m2½f contest.

The Scottish-trained horse outstayed his rivals in the Ultima Handicap Chase last month, winning the Day One handicap contest for the second straight year. At the age of nine, his connections feel now is the perfect time to take on the Grand National.

With a lenient weight of 10st 5lb, Corach Rambler could be a long way ahead of the handicapper. He is a horse who will relish the racecourse, distance and conditions he encounters at Aintree for the world’s most famous steeplechase.

Noble Yeats

The challenge facing Noble Yeats in the latest running of the Grand National is a much tougher one than when he won the race in 2022. However, despite having 15lb extra on his back this time, a repeat success cannot be ruled out.

Noble Yeats, who was fourth in the Cheltenham Gold Cup at the Cheltenham Festival last month, is now one of the highest-rated chasers in the UK and Ireland. Unlike many of his rivals at Aintree, he has proved his stamina over the long distance.

Sean Bowen is expected to pick up the ride on the defending champion this year following Sam Waley-Cohen’s retirement. He has already ridden him to victory this season, so he knows the horse well.

Mr Incredible

It has been another fantastic season for Irish Champion Trainer Willie Mullins. He had an excellent Cheltenham Festival, with victory coming in the biggest race of the week, the 2023 Cheltenham Gold Cup with Galopin Des Champs. The Irishman will now be targeting the Grand National, and he will have a great chance of landing the contest for the second time with Mr Incredible.

The Naas winner has gone close to success on his last outings, including when he was third in the Kim Muir Challenge Cup Handicap Chase at the Cheltenham Festival. He was also second in the Warwick Classic back in January.

With a weight allocation of 10st 4lb, Mr Incredible will be receiving weight from the majority of his rivals in the race at Aintree. The seven-year-old remains open to improvement and he represents a stable which is in red-hot form, as shown during the Irish Grand National Meeting at Fairyhouse.

The 2023 Grand National takes place on the 15th of April at Aintree Racecourse in Liverpool. It is scheduled for 17:15 (BST) on the final day of the three-day Grand National Meeting.
