Novak Djokovic beats Dominic Thiem in five set win at the Australian Open 2020

Novak Djokovic makes it 8 wins in 8 Australian Open finals with a win over Austrian Dominic Thiem. The Serbian extends the record for the most ever Australian Open titles won.

The second seed overcame Thiem in five sets 6-4 4-6 2-6 6-3 6-4 in exactly four hours. This see’s Djokovic retain his 17th Grand Slam title, now chasing Rafael Nadal’s 19 and Roger Federer’s 20 Grand Slam titles.

Fifth seed Dominic Thiem now faces three losses in three Grand Slam finals and still continues to chase his first Grand Slam.

Djokovic remains king of the Australian Open winning the Grand Slam 8 times since 2008 and still shows no signs of slowing down.
